Multi-Factor Authentication Update to Align with HIPAA Compliance Efforts

Call Box takes the security and compliance of our user data seriously and, as a result, will be adding an additional layer of security when users log in to their Call Box account. In continuous effort to improve security and maintain compliance with evolving FTC and HIPAA regulations, we will be enforcing users to enable Multi-Factor Authentication. The enforcement of Multi-Factor Authentication is an important step in protecting your practice's data.

What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication is a security measure that requires users to provide two or more forms of identification before gaining access to a system. This helps prevent unauthorized access to your account and ensures that your data remains secure. With the added layer of protection, even if someone has your password, they won't be able to access your account without an additional authentication factor such as a code sent to your mobile phone.

Why enforce Multi-Factor Authentication?

In a continuous effort to prioritize the security of your data and assist our clients in their HIPAA compliance efforts, we will be updating your Call Box account to enforce Multi-Factor Authentication.

What You Need to Do

Starting early June, Call Box users will be required to enable Multi-Factor Authentication when logging in. You will be prompted to sign in as usual, then asked to input a phone number. Insert your personal mobile phone number. Once you enter the phone number you should receive the text message within 15-20 seconds. After your initial sign in, the mobile number you input will be locked in for every login attempt for that specific username and password. You can select the option to remember your device for 30 days to eliminate this additional step for the following weeks. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure your account is properly secured.

What If I Share My Login Credentials with My Team?

It is imperative each staff member who accesses Call Box create their own personal login prior to this change. Once a mobile phone number is inputted, it cannot be changed and will lock out all other users sharing that account login. Every individual needing access to Car Wars requires their own login credentials. You will not incur additional charges for adding new user seats to your Call Box account.

We understand the change may be an inconvenience for some of our clients, but we believe this update is necessary to stay ahead of security and compliance regulations. We are committed to providing you with the best service and support as we work together to navigate these changing requirements.

If you have any questions or concerns about this update, please do not hesitate to contact your Call Box consultant or Call Box support HERE.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.
