Call Box FAQs and Guide to a Smooth Transition to GA4

Approaching quickly, all Google Analytics Users will switch to Google Analytics 4. It is essential you start making this transition early in your Google account and any integrations. The new version of Google Analytics differs from the current Universal Analytics in several ways, so be sure to familiarize yourself with the new features before July 1st, 2023.

What is GA4?

Google Analytics 4 is the next-generation measurement solution and is replacing Universal Analytics. GA4 collects event-based data from both websites and apps. GA4 is already live, and Google will be shutting off the older Universal Analytics product on July 1st, 2023. At Call Box, we are excited to be able to continue to offer the same data we have always provided to our customers. Learn more about GA4 here.

Why is Call Box making these changes?

Google will be shutting off their older Universal Analytics product on July 1st, 2023. Call Box prioritizes our customers' needs and wants to ensure that our data and insights are still visible to our customers as Google makes this transition.

How Do I Set Up My Call Box and GA4 Integration?

Our full guide walks through each step in detail so you can prepare before the final July 1st switch to GA4. View our full guide HERE.

When is this change happening?

Google will officially stop processing data into Universal Analytics on July 1st, 2023. However, GA4 is already live and processing data into your Google Analytics 4 account.

Can I start preparing now?

Yes! In fact, Call Box highly encourages you to start prepping now. It can be a very time-consuming process to transfer Univeral Analytics to GA4 and prepare all of your vendor integrations. View Call Box's full guide HERE.

Will I still have access to my Universal Analytics data?

Starting July 1st, 2023, data will stop processing into your Universal Analytics account. However, Google announced that you will still be able to access old data for at least 6 months after the transition from Universal Analytics to GA4.

What does Call Box need from me to complete the integration?

Once you have completed all of the steps to set up events in GA4, Call Box needs the unique measurement ID and the Secret key. Google recommends creating unique measurement IDs and Secret keys for each vendor. Also, be sure you have created the events noted in our Call Box/GA4 Setup Guide to make sure you continue to see the phone call data from your DNI calls.

Let your Call Box consultant or the Call Box support team know once you have completed these steps and we will complete the integration.

If I am currently set up with Universal Analytics, will I continue to automatically see this data in Google Analytics 4?

If you currently have Call Box Website Tracking set up, there are a few steps you need to take to ensure this data transfers to GA4 correctly. Call Box recommends setting up a GA4 property and using our Setup Guide for completing the required steps. You can contact your Call Box consultant or Call Box support if you are unclear about what is currently set up.

If you have any questions or concerns about the Call Box and GA4 integration, please do not hesitate to contact your Call Box consultant or Call Box support HERE.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.
